Settings

The Settings section allows you to configure the core behavior of the Cart Reserve app, including product synchronization, reservation scope, session rules, fraud protection, storefront appearance, and billing.

Initial Setup

After installing Cart Reserve, the Settings page initially shows only the Product Limits and Billing & Subscription sections.

At this stage:

  • No products are imported
  • Reservation features are inactive
  • Product-based configuration is unavailable

This is expected behavior. Click Re-sync Products in the Product Limits section to import your catalog and enable all features.

Product Limits

The Product Limits section shows the sync status of your Shopify products with Cart Reserve.

  • Products — total number of products imported from Shopify
  • Variants — total number of product variants available for reservation
  • Status — current sync state (Synced, Syncing, or Error)

Re-sync Products

Click Re-sync Products to manually refresh the product catalog from Shopify. This is useful after adding new products or if sync issues occur.

Reservation Mode

Choose which products customers can reserve in their cart.

All Products

Every product in your catalog is reservable. This is the simplest configuration.

Note: This option requires a Pro subscription.

Selected Products

Only chosen products are reservable. Use this mode to enable reservations for specific high-demand or limited-stock items while leaving other products unrestricted.

Configure individual product reservations in the Products section.

Reservation Settings

Configure how long items stay reserved in customer carts.

Session Timer

Set the default reservation duration using the slider (range: 5 to 60 minutes).

The timer starts when a customer adds a reservable item to their cart and counts down until checkout completion or expiration.

Allow Timer Extension

Enable this toggle to let customers extend their reservation timer when it's running low.

When enabled, customers see an "Extend" button in the cart UI as the timer approaches expiration.

Maximum Extensions Per Session

Set how many times a customer can extend their reservation (default: 10).

This prevents indefinite reservation holding while giving legitimate customers flexibility.

Global Quantity Limit

Set a maximum quantity limit that applies to all products.

This provides a baseline limit across your entire catalog without configuring individual products.

Note: This option requires a Pro subscription.

Fraud Protection

AI-powered fraud detection automatically identifies and handles suspicious reservation behavior.

Auto-restrict Suspicious Sessions

Enable this toggle to automatically invalidate reservations when AI detects high-risk fraud signals.

When enabled, the system will:

  • Analyze session behavior patterns in real-time
  • Detect known fraud indicators (suspicious IPs, bot-like behavior, unusual patterns)
  • Automatically restrict sessions that exceed risk thresholds

Restricted sessions release their reserved inventory immediately.

Fraud Blocklist

Block reservations from specific IP addresses or countries.

Use this to proactively prevent known bad actors from creating reservations.

Note: This option requires a Pro subscription.

Storefront Templates

Customize how reservation timers and expired states appear to your customers.

Click Customize Appearance to open the template editor where you can:

  • Choose from preset themes (Default, Minimal, Bold)
  • Customize colors for each timer state
  • Configure container styling
  • Preview changes in real-time

Theme Selectors

Configure CSS selectors to help Cart Reserve find elements in your theme.

Most themes work automatically with Cart Reserve's built-in detection. Only customize selectors if the default detection isn't working for your specific theme.

Click Configure Selectors to access selector settings.

Billing & Subscription

Manage your subscription plan and billing settings.

Click View Plans to:

  • View your current subscription tier
  • Upgrade or downgrade your plan
  • Update payment information
  • View billing history
